  • Interested in working at our headquarters?

The global humanitarian sector can seem like an unfathomable world. What matters for us is the difference we can make to people affected by armed conflict and other situations of violence. Individuals and communities in need remain squarely at the heart of the ICRC’s humanitarian action. We constantly challenge ourselves to evolve our operating model and to build and deliver relevant and sustainable impact.

From our headquarters, we represent the organization to the world and support all the activities we carry out in over 90 countries, creating programmes and policies, setting global strategies, developing cutting-edge tools and more.

You will be working with dedicated and caring colleagues who are passionate about what they do.

Join us and do work that matters!

  • We want to talk to you!

We are trying to build a more diverse and inclusive ICRC, with teams that are spread globally.

Passion and personality matter.

To maintain our impact, the ICRC needs to remain open, approachable and willing to listen. Successful employees know how to connect with people from different backgrounds and all levels of hierarchy.

Because of the emergency nature of our work, we operate in constantly changing settings. We are looking for people who are comfortable with navigating uncertainty, adept at connecting the dots and enthusiastic about going the extra mile.

Not all people joining the ICRC have prior experience in humanitarian action, but they thrive regardless because of their motivation, expertise, versatility and inclusive way of working.

We are able to employ people irrespective of their nationality, for traineeships as well as permanent, temporary and consulting contracts at our headquarters.

Positions at headquarters are filled by a standard recruitment process in three steps: apply, interview and decide.
