We are looking for an Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) Coordinator to manage the ICT department of a field delegation and to ensure the appropriate delivery of ICT services, in accordance with the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) standards.
As an independent and neutral organization, the ICRC works worldwide to provide humanitarian assistance to people affected by conflict and armed violence. We take action in response to emergencies and at the same time promote respect for international humanitarian law. We direct and coordinate the international activities conducted in these situations.

Purpose of the position

Communication and technology are crucial for the smooth running of our organization’s activities.
In this role, you will be responsible for the quality of the ICT support in the designated Delegation, provide the required guidance and support to the Delegation’s Management regarding the use of Technologies, while taking appropriate measures to guarantee an accurate functioning of the ICT set-up, along with the respect of ICT policies and procedures.
In addition to this, you will supervise the installation, maintenance, and evolution of an existing large ICT infrastructure and service setup. We will also require ensuring quality by running tests on ICT equipment, hardware and software networks and other devices, to ensure their optimal performance and standard configuration. You are expected to manage and lead small multidisciplinary ICT teams and be involved in the recruitment and training of ICT national staff.

Required education and skills

  • Degree in telecommunications, electronics, computer science or related field, or equivalent experience
  • ICT management certification (ITIL or equivalent)
  • Microsoft Certification (MCSA level)
  • Proficiency in English
  • Fluency in French is a plus (non-French speaking selected candidates will have to reach a B2 level within a year from the moment of hiring)

Desired profile and skills

  • At least 5 years of professional experience in IT service operation management
  • At least 2 years of confirmed experience in people management
  • Knowledge of wireless technologies is mandatory
  • Project Management Certification (PRINCE2 or equivalent) is an asset
  • Cybersecurity knowledge and experience is an asset
  • Strongly motivated by humanitarian work, empathic and open-minded
  • Strong interest in ICT Operations Management and capacity to run a team with an interest in diversity and inclusion
  • Excellent ability to work in a team and under pressure in a potentially dangerous environment
