What we do

 

The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) works worldwide to provide humanitarian assistance to people affected by conflict and armed violence. We take action in response to emergencies and at the same time promote respect for international humanitarian law. We are an independent and neutral organization, and our mandate stems essentially from the Geneva Conventions of 1949. We work closely with National Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies and with their International Federation in order to ensure a concerted, rational and rapid humanitarian response to the needs of the victims of armed conflict or any other situation of internal violence. We direct and coordinate the international activities conducted in these situations.

Purpose

 

The Resource Mobilization Division (REM) manages the institutional relationship between ICRC and its various donors. A new strategy for ICRC Resource Mobilisation 2020-2030 has been validated in early 2021. It aims to guide fundraising efforts at the ICRC by establishing five strategic orientations that seek to address challenges identified today and prepare fundraising at the ICRC to be fit for purpose in the future. In this context, a large number of projects will start in the coming months and coordination effort will be key. The associate will play an important role in supporting REM Management Team on different ongoing projects with project management (PMO) and change management activities.

Accountabilities & Functional responsibilities (1/2)

 

Project Management:  

In order to deliver the project successfully the associate will participate in the following project management activities :

  • Develop and followup plans of actions
  • Budget management
  • Risk management
  • Prepare and follow up on meetings and workshops
  • Information management - Sharepoint

Accountabilities & Functional responsibilities (2/2)

 

Change Management:

In order to deliver the change strategy the associate will participate in the following activities:   

  • Create change/communication materials in line with project and change plans
  • Manage the project’s JIVE community web platform (content management in line with project and change plans) to drive and cultivate engagement
  • Create and manage the implementation of the training plan (invitations, rooms, etc.)
  • Create training material when necessary in order to support the implementation of new ways of working
  • Support the teams with the integration on the new ways of working

Relationships

 

The candidate will be part of an Associate pool and will have the opportunity to work on projects with other units within REM (up to 50% of their time). The candidate’s profile and interest will be considered for the allocation of projects.  The candidate may be required to manage autonomously specific projects for the division.

Education required

 

  • Master of Science in business administration, hospitality, economics,  engineering, digital Marketing/Communication

Experience required

 

  • First experience of working or volunteering in one of the following areas is an asset
    • International or national humanitarian organizations
    • The Red Cross Movement
    • Marketing, communication, event organization or customer relation
    • Corporate social responsibility
  • First experience in Project management (in any context - associative or professional)
