What We Do

The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) works worldwide to provide protection and humanitarian assistance to people affected by conflict and armed violence. We take action in response to emergencies and, at the same time, promote respect for international humanitarian law. We are an independent and neutral organization, and our mandate stems essentially from the Geneva Conventions of 1949. We work closely with National Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies and with their International Federation in order to ensure a concerted, rational and rapid humanitarian response to the needs of the victims of armed conflict or any other situation of internal violence. We direct and coordinate the international activities conducted in these situations.

Purpose of the Position

Provide reliable income forecasts, reporting and performance insights that help resource mobilization (REM) and ICRC leaders monitor results, make informed decisions, and improve resource mobilization performance. The role is the subject matter expert for income forecasting and brings performance reporting across REM into one connected framework.

Main Duties & Responsibilities

• SME and coordinator of the income forecast process (monthly, including parallel current- and next-year iterations): ensures completion and compliance with the process, consolidate inputs and narratives from private and public fundraising teams; challenges assumptions using historical performance, trend and variance analysis; produces forecast reporting packs (comparison vs. prior iterations, key drivers, risks and opportunities); and recommends improvements to forecast accuracy and reliability to the Business Process Owner (BPO). This responsibility represents approximately half of the role.

• Prepares REM performance and forecasting reporting for internal and external audiences (fundraising performance, strategy implementation, various REM governance reporting), ensuring data consistency, reconciliation and quality control; contributes to institutional reporting cycles (PMT/MFR and other submissions). Continually improves these reports to meet evolving user needs.

• Safeguards the quality of the data underpinning forecasting and performance reporting: identifies recurring data-quality and performance issues (incl. procedure adherence and system use, e.g. 4D, incorrect entries, etc.), diagnoses root causes, and works with the Data Steward and other relevant teams and BPOs, to define, follow up and track corrective actions. Ensures consistency and reliability of Power BI reporting by validating data accuracy, aligning reporting requirements with business needs.

• Establishes data controls in collaboration with the 4D team to strengthen user ownership and accountability for data quality and input accuracy.

• Supports the coordination of performance activities across REM, contributing to a single, harmonized performance framework with consistent KPIs, review routines and application across teams.

• Partners with Donor Experience teams (in Public and Private Fundraising) to combine qualitative insights on donor journeys and content with quantitative performance across all income streams. Use external benchmarks and donor trends to produce analysis that supports REM planning, prioritization and decision-making.

Education Required

• Master’s degree level or equivalent in finance, economics, public or business administration, or international development.
  
  
• Fluent in English (full proficiency). Knowledge of French is an asset.
  
  
• Advanced Excel and PowerBI skills
  
  
• Ideally, proficiency with the use of CRMs (ideally MS Dynamics)

Professional Experience Required

• Typically, around 8-10 years of professional experience in finance, performance/M&E, forecasting/planning, international development, project management, research, or a related field is required.
  
  
• Experience in income/revenue or financial forecasting, alongside financial analysis is required.
  
  
• Proven ability to run evidence-based, decision-oriented analysis; synthesize complex/large datasets into clear insights, options, and recommendations is required.
  
  
• Experience preparing and running business/performance frameworks and reviews is required.
  
  
• Demonstrated ability to diagnose root causes (data quality, process adherence, system use) and recommend practical process/tool improvements is required.
  
  
• Understanding of the humanitarian funding environment, donor landscape and related challenges and constraints is required.
  
  
• Works autonomously with limited supervision; sets priorities and delivers to deadlines is required.
  
  
• Ability to manage several work streams concurrently and semi-independently in a dynamic work environment is required.
  
  
• Strong interpersonal skills and commitment to the ICRC humanitarian mission; collaborates across boundaries and leads without authority is required.

Scope and Impact

• This role supports sustainable income performance for ICRC by strengthening REM’s decision-making through accurate forecasting, performance insight, and funding-health analysis, helping align resource mobilization priorities with operational needs.

• As single coordinator of the forecast cycle, consolidates an activity that is central to REM governance, improving reliability, accountability and the analytical depth behind the numbers.

• It partners closely with Donor Experience teams to connect qualitative donor journey insights and fundraising guidance with quantitative performance analysis and standardized segment performance reporting.

• It equips the Head of Coordination, Data & Performance, as well as key members of the Leadership and Management of REM, with decision-ready analysis and reporting, enabling timely escalations, sharper prioritization, and follow-up of corrective actions across REM management routines.

• Internally, supports the work of the Head of Coordination, Data & Performance, as well as the Heads of Public and Private Fundraising. Works day-to-day with Public and Private fundraising teams, as well as those of Data, 4D (CRM), and Income Management.
  
  
• Externally, interacts with relevant stakeholders, including peer-organizations.
