Purpose of the Role

 

The Technical & Functional Application Specialist ensures the smooth running of operations in accordance with the defined SLAs and takes independent action to correct issues. They liaise with various T&I stakeholders (HR Products Manager, Global Deployment & Mobility Product Owner, and external actors) to integrate and support solutions, and contribute to platform evolution as well as bug fixing.

 

Relationships

 

  • Internally, interacts with staff in the EXPR product lines (particularly the EXPR-HR Scrum Master, the GDM Application Manager, and the rest of the GDM Delivery Team) and the People division staff (especially through the GDM Product Owner).
  • Externally, interacts with T&I service providers and suppliers (e.g. SAP).

 

Main Duties & Responsibilities

 

  • Ensure all deployed applications operate properly and follow operational procedures.
  • Anticipate technical and operational needs, identify and solve problems, and provide orientation on the technologies used in the product under their responsibility.
  • Contribute to designing solutions, provide support and documentation on them, and train support teams on their use where needed.
  • Produce and maintain technical and functional documentation for the application under their responsibility.
  • Resolve assigned incidents and requests while ensuring resolution time commitments are met according to the service and operational level agreements (SLAs and OLAs).
  • Manage and follow up on tickets proactively; contribute to monitoring all product tickets and requests proactively, including backlog management.
  • Prepare, execute, and support system, integration, and user acceptance testing (DEV/UAT).
  • Respect and apply ICRC & T&I methodologies.
  • Support the decommissioning of legacy applications, ensuring data migration, archival, and transition activities are completed successfully.

 

Education & Professional Background

 

  • Advanced university degree in Information Management (Human Resources or IT related field is a plus).
  • Typically 3–6 years' overall professional experience.
  • Project Management Certification (Agile or V methodology) an asset.
  • Business Analyst certification an asset.
  • Certification/training in ServiceNow an asset.
  • Certification in SuccessFactors an asset.
  • Fluent in English (French is an asset).

 

Skills & Competencies

 

  • Experience in coding and system configuration.
  • Experience in Business Analysis.
  • Experience with the ServiceNow platform and/or SuccessFactors.
  • Experience configuring workflows, forms, business rules, roles, and permissions.
  • Good understanding of APIs, integrations, authentication mechanisms, and data exchange.
  • Ability to analyze logs, troubleshoot technical issues, and perform root cause analysis.
