ABOUT THE JOB

The ICRC Protection Unit is recruiting a Protection/(SCBP) Field Officer based in Kyiv office. In close cooperation with the team members and line managers, Protection/(SCBP) Field Officer will mainly be responsible for contributing to the implementation and monitoring of ICRC protection activities, in relation to the Safe Cross-Border Passage (SCBP) program. The program supports the repatriation/family reunification of people affected by the conflict.

YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

As the Protection/ (SCBP) Field Officer you will be responsible for:

 

  • Managing the day-to-day implementation and development of the Safe Cross-Border Passage (SCBP) program in close coordination with the team
  • Assessing and processing potential cases in line with established criteria and ensuring timely follow-up for beneficiaries
  • Providing support to sub-delegations on SCBP cases and activities, including participating in field trips and meetings as needed
  • Ensuring compliance with workflows, reporting guidelines, and data entry procedures, including maintaining accurate and timely updates of SCBP files
  • Collecting, analyzing, and sharing protection-related information and preparing relevant reports.
  • Identifying and maintaining effective relationships with key stakeholders, including authorities, National Society branches, NGOs, and service providers
  • Supporting the planning, organization, and reporting of internal and external meetings and providing interpretation when required
  • Engaging directly with individuals affected by conflict to understand their circumstances and provide support in line with ICRC’s humanitarian principles
  • Contributing to the analysis of the security, socioeconomic, cultural, and political environment and sharing relevant updates with the team

ABOUT YOU

To be successful as Protection Field Officer for the Safe Cross-Border Program in the Protection Department, you should possess the following qualification and experience and have the following characteristics: 

 

  • Ukrainian citizenship or holding a permanent resident permit in Ukraine
  • University degree or equivalent relevant professional experience
  • 3–5 years of professional experience, preferably in the fields of social, political, or economic sciences, or a related area
  • Proficiency in English, Ukrainian and Russian to effectively communicate with the affected populations.
  • Proficiency in computer skills and relevant software applications
  • Self-motivated with a strong commitment to teamwork and humanitarian principles
  • Flexible, enthusiastic, and willing to learn
  • Ability to work independently, as well as effectively under supervision
  • Confidence in managing projects and staff
  • Ability to organize and prioritize multiple tasks
  • Ability to work within a diverse team and establish and maintain good working relations in a multi-ethnic, multi-cultural, and multi-disciplinary environment
