Interview with Mirette Ibrahim, Talent Attraction Associate based in Geneva, Switzerland.

Hello, my name is Mirette and I’m currently a Talent Attraction Associate at the ICRC. Prior to joining the ICRC, I worked in strategic and internal communication at the United Nations. My career goal is to keep working in the realm of communication, with a focus on employer branding.

Reflecting on my journey so far, I can confidently say that being part of the ICRC team has been immensely rewarding. From day one, I could feel the vibrant and dynamic nature of the ICRC. As humanitarians, everyone here works tirelessly to serve a purpose-driven mission and a people-centered organization.

My work focuses on communication and enhancing the organization’s employer branding efforts. I primarily work on drafting communication materials for ICRC’s official LinkedIn account, as well as helping update the Careers website and coordinating webinars and in-person career events. My work involves collaborating with other teams to understand their work and promote it on our digital channels.

Over the past year, I’ve had the privilege of collaborating with passionate colleagues and witnessing first-hand the profound impact of the ICRC's work. It has been a journey of personal and professional growth. I work within a global team based in different locations across the world. One my favorite memories I had at the ICRC was when our team came together for an in-person retreat in Geneva. Meeting face-to-face really strengthened our connections and understanding, bringing us closer despite being spread out across the globe. This experience showed how valuable personal interactions are in driving our collaborative humanitarian work.

If you're a young professional seeking a career with real-world impact, look no further! Check our Associate positions to kickstart your career at the ICRC. Associate positions are paid, usually offer a one-year contract and are open across all our departments and thematic units, based on organizational needs.

Here are my tips to craft a great application for one of our Associate positions:
