We are the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC)
We are a neutral, impartial, and independent organization that provides humanitarian protection and assistance to people affected by armed conflict and other violence.
Established in 1863, the ICRC works worldwide, helping people affected by conflict and armed violence and promoting the laws that protect victims of war. As an independent and neutral organization, our mandate stems essentially from the Geneva Conventions of 1949. We are based in Geneva, Switzerland, and employ over 18,000 people in more than 90 countries. The ICRC is funded mainly by voluntary donations from governments and from the National Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies.
We are committed to fair and equitable recruitment and promotion opportunities, and we welcome applications from all qualified candidates.
What is the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement?
The International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement is the world’s largest humanitarian network, working to prevent and alleviate suffering wherever it may be found, always on the side of humanity.
The Movement is a global humanitarian network comprising the ICRC, National Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies and the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC). As the largest humanitarian network in the world, we work together to alleviate human suffering and promote humanitarian values.
The ICRC thrives on the rich diversity of its workforce. Our staff come from a wide range of professional, socio-economic, cultural, and ethnic backgrounds. This medley of skills and experiences is key in enabling us to provide the best possible assistance to people affected by armed conflict and other situations of violence.
We are happy to introduce you to our colleagues, who make the ICRC such a great place to work.

Testimonials
"We focus on growing local talent and ensuring our people feel supported. If teams on the ground aren’t taken care of, our humanitarian impact suffers."
"Every day in the field is different: visiting sites, following up on finances, meeting authorities, delivering training, checking hygiene, or supporting medical teams."
"I enjoy assessing and developing solutions, thinking creatively, and capacity-building for field officers and service providers without psychology backgrounds."
